UTOM (Young minds for music)

With the support of Signatur Foundation Sweden, the UTOM (Young minds for music) network has implemented its Artists in Residency project at the Uppsala Konsert & Kongress (UKK) venue where UTOM members can use the UKK as a hub for a number of activities including continuing education, workshops, public discussion forums and concerts.

UTOM is a stand-alone and independent network that makes use of the richness of ideas, potential and voices that young professionals in the music community possess.

UTOM consists of young and prominent music professionals who have realised that the responsibility for music in our society one day will rest on their shoulders. UTOM’s core aim is to encourage young music professionals from all genres to meet, develop and work together for an inclusive, challenging, tolerant and daring cultural climate in the future. The members are aged between 25 and 40 years and are elected on a four year mandate.

”Private funders who, in an altruistic way, create opportunities for music life to develop and find new interesting and exciting paths are a rare commodity in Sweden. Therefore, Signatur Foundation Sweden is a fantastic addition and a force with great potential, alongside music’s various stakeholders, to really make a difference.
