Bergen Festival Academy

Signatur supports the Bergen Festival Academy 2026, the Bergen International Festival’s initiative for the next generation of musicians and composers. Through concerts, artistic mentoring, and professional meeting places, young artists are given the opportunity to develop their artistry in collaboration with established musicians and audiences.

This year’s Bergen Festival Academy program includes a concert at the opening ceremony featuring musicians from the Youth Symphony Orchestra and the sensational sibling duo Alma and Franz Serafin Kraggerud, masterclasses with world-class mentors such as Thomas Hampson and Esa-Pekka Salonen, major concerts with outstanding young musicians in Ungdomssymfonikerne Kammer and the Nordic Wind Orchestra, performances by the Swedish Monbijou Quartet at Bullahuset, as well as concerts at Gamlehaugen featuring young performers. Festspillene i Bergen

The festival embraces international stars and newcomers, spacious concert halls and intimate recitals, the old, the new and all that arises when they meet. Bergen International Festival coincides when art forms come together, in encounters between tradition and renewal, reflection and joy, stage and hall.

The UNESCO city of Bergen, which includes historic sites such as the home of composer Edvard Grieg and the 750-year-old royal court Håkonshallen, is the backdrop for hundreds of live art experiences and life-long memories created by the festival over fifteen days in spring each year.
