We fund projects that contribute to a vibrant and inclusive music and performing arts landscape in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.

We accept applications only during open calls, and proposals must be submitted through our digital application system. We’re happy to answer questions and help you assess fit before you apply.
When Signatur accepts new applications, you will find an open call in our digital application system.
In order to submit your proposal, you must register for an account in our system with your email address as username.
Signatur’s board assesses all project proposals based on the foundation’s grant making criteria. We endeavour to inform all applicants if their proposal has been rejected or invited to the second stage of the application process within two months of the application deadline.
In January-February Signatur’s board decides which projects will receive funding in that year’s Signatur Programme, and new projects can start on 1 March at the earliest.
Signatur can only provide funding to projects and partners whose aims are consistent the objectives of the foundation, as defined in Signatur’s founding articles. This includes work that:
Supporting high-quality learning and artistic development.
Creating more opportunities for the public to experience high-quality music.
Reaching new audiences and widening who takes part in cultural life.
Using the arts to build connection across communities and cultures.
Dance, ballet and theatre projects are also eligible for support.
To be eligible for funding, applicants must meet all the following criteria:
Applicants must be legal entities operating for public benefit, such as registered charities or equivalent not-for-profit organisations.
The applicant organisation must be willing and able to take full legal responsibility for the project, including financial management, reporting and communication with Signatur.
We fund clearly defined, time-limited projects. Funding is not available for an organisation’s regular or ongoing operational costs.
Projects must be delivered by professional artists, educators or practitioners. We do not fund purely amateur or informal initiatives.
We do not fund individuals directly. Individuals seeking support must work with a suitable non-profit organisation that is willing to host the project and submit the application.
