SoundLab Stockholm - a music and social action initiative for young people.

Together with Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH), Jakobsgård and Rinkebyskolan, we are supporting the development of SoundLab Stockholm, a music and social action initiative for young people in the Stockholm districts of Bredäng and Rinkeby.

The programme will establish two local centres where young people can come together to make, perform and learn music in a safe and welcoming environment, free of charge. By creating opportunities for collective music-making and bringing together participants from different backgrounds across the city, SoundLab Stockholm seeks to strengthen social connections, support young people's self-expression and create new spaces for participation and community through music.

Through a donation from The Karlsson Játiva Charitable Foundation, the founder of the Signaturprogramme in the UK, its long-standing partner Royal Birmingham Conservatoire has been given the opportunity to develop the SoundLab initiative further in Sweden.

Together with the Kungliga Musikhögskolan (KMH) in Stockholm, SoundLab Stockholm is now being developed, with a focus on music and social engagement.
