About us

The London based charity The Karlsson Játiva Charitable Foundation, the founder of Signatur – Insamlingsstiftelse för musikfrämjande, has as one of its objectives to promote the advancement of the art of music and the education of the public in the same in the United Kingdom, Sweden and other countries across Europe. It promotes this objective through its Signatur programme. For this purpose it founded Signatur – Insamlingsstiftelse för musikfrämjande which is an independent fundraising foundation registered in Stockholm, with its own board responsible for managing its assets in accordance with its foundation charter.

(i) to promote a vibrant Swedish and Nordic music life by providing access to broad qualitative music education;

(ii) to improve the opportunities for the public to enjoy high-quality music;

(iii) to promote efforts to broaden the base for Swedish and Nordic music life

(iv) to create the conditions for cultural integration through music; and

(v) in addition to music, support other related forms of performing arts such as dance, ballet or theatre.

The Foundation’s aims can be met by its own activities or by supporting or collaborating with stakeholders to promote the purpose.

Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra Head about Signatur

“It is with great joy and gratitude that we who work with music in Sweden welcome Signatur Foundation Sweden. The need to be able to quickly apply for funding for various projects aimed at the widest possible public is great. Signatur Foundation Sweden, through its efficient management, enables a quick implementation of new exciting projects both for the short and long term where the focus on children and young people feels particularly important. The foundation’s establishment is a very welcome addition to the funding options currently available for public music life and will enrich it in a tangible way. I am full of admiration that a successful businessman and his family choose to share their financial resources to promote Swedish music life. I hope Erland Karlsson’s love for music inspires many more to do something like that – the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra is very grateful for the cooperation with Signatur Foundation Sweden and looks forward to many exciting projects in the future!”
